ABOUT THE AWARDS:

The African Governance Awards has been designed and will be organized by The Business Executive Media Group. This awards scheme has been conceptualized to identify and publicly recognize sovereign institutions from all across Africa and multilateral institutions active across the continent that have made exemplary contributions to good governance on the continent with regards to political governance and socio-economic development. Awards will also be conferred on identified individuals at the top tiers of political and socio-economic governance who have made extraordinary contributions to Africa’s growth and development at both the sovereign national level and the pan continental level.

These awards are being instituted to appreciate public institutions and individuals in the upper echelons of governance across Africa, with a view to encouraging and supporting exemplary performance and conduct that are essential requisites for the continuation and ultimate completion of the continent’s ongoing renaissance.

Nominations will be accepted from the public all across the continent, subject to the eligibility rules that have been established.

Awardees will be determined by expert assessment using a combination of verification and authentication of nominations by our contracted research consultants and the assessments and deliberations of our specially constituted Awards Selection Jury comprising experts on political and socio-economic governance drawn from all around the continent and stakeholder institutions representing major international development partners of counties on the continent.

The awardees selection process will be credible and comprehensive using professional expertize in a quantifiable way wherever possible and applied independent of the influence of the organizers themselves.

Awards will be conferred on the winners in the various delineated categories at a five star gala awards conferment event to be held in….later this year.

Neither nominees nor the actual award winners will be required to pay any fees for their nominations or actual awards. The entire award scheme is being financed through corporate/institutional sponsorships. In order to avoid conflict of interest, sponsors will not be entitled to play any role in the awardees selection process.

AWARDS CONFERMENT EVENT


This unique event is billed as the largest gathering of top tier public officials in Africa – drawn from both African countries and countries outside the continent who have close relations with Africa – ever done before. The awardees themselves will be present as will several other top tier government functionaries, as well as politicians, corporate/institutional executives, traditional rulers and civil society leaders wishing to lend their support to awardees and use this unique opportunity to network with the movers and shakers of Africa’s elite public sector. It will also be attended by the international media and public sector and public policy analysts and commentators from all around the world.

Thus the event presents one of the biggest opportunities ever for both public sector and private sector chieftains seeking networking opportunities to establish strategic alliance and partnerships and to consummate transactions such as contracts, financing arrangements etc.
